Cyberbullying between teenagers

 

 

Two years ago, the 'The Glory' was the most famous K-drama. The Glory was about school bullying. The story was about a woman who was bullied seeking revenge against the bullies. After the drama finished, a woman uploaded a video on YouTube sharing her story. She said she was bullied by classmates when she was a student. The story was broadcasted through many TV news shows. The news was paid attention to by the public because of the 'The Glory' drama. The bullies were exposed but they didn't apologize to the woman. She couldn't sue because too much time had passed. She said she had suffered from the memories ever since. The event was terrible and shocked because the woman committed suicide a few months later. There are still so many people being bullied in school.

 

 

Especially cyberbullying is serious these days. Since cyberbullying doesn't occur offline but online. it is difficult to expose outside. Also, victims are easy to be bullied repeatedly. Finally, it's hard to punish because the bullying is not physical. However, cyberbullying has a strong negative effect on victims. Cyberbullying between teenagers is increasing. 

 

How to prevent cyberbullying? First, schools and parents should educate on the seriousness of cyberbullying. Second, cyberbullying often happens in online games. People tend to use inappropriate words during games. So, the game company should reinforce regulations and monitor online chat among game users. Lastly, don't hesitate to report the bullying to the police and seek help from close teachers or parents. 

 

The cases of cyberbullying crimes are increasing globally. I think the governments of each country should make specific laws or implement systems regarding this.
